Bryan Cater Limited

Bryan Cater Ltd provides chimney sweeping and related stove services from Northwold. The team’s work includes sweeping, stove and appliance servicing, cowl and birdguard fitting, CCTV inspections and tar or creosote removal. Its sweeps cover a range of appliances, including wood and multifuel stoves, open fires, Aga and Rayburn appliances, Jetmasters and inglenooks.

A standard sweep includes a safety inspection, sweeping and vacuuming, and a smoke-draw test where appropriate; a sweeping certificate is issued. The team also works with thatched-roof properties and can remove birds’ nests in accordance with the guidance and laws cited on its website. CCTV inspections can help investigate blockages, smoke leakage and possible damage after chimney fires.

Stove care includes maintenance, replacement parts and repairs such as replacing rope seals, firebricks, bars and glass. Gavin Cater is a registered HETAS stove installer, and the business offers installations as well as a mobile stove trailer. The trailer displays a selection of stoves and is available to view by appointment at its Northwold depot.

The business describes its sweeps as HETAS-approved and NVQ-qualified. Its website also notes that Gavin trains and assesses new sweeps for the Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps. Services are suited to householders needing routine sweeping or appliance care, as well as owners of thatched properties and people seeking inspection or installation work.
