Aspinall's Chimney Sweep & Wood Stoves

Aspinall's Chimney Sweep provides chimney and solid-fuel appliance services in Wigan and across parts of the North West. The work ranges from sweeping open fires, gas fires, wood-burning and multi-fuel stoves, Aga appliances and boiler stoves to installing and maintaining stoves.

For a closer look at a chimney or appliance, the business offers new-homeowner inspections and surveys, flue draw and smoke tests, and CCTV chimney inspections. It also removes bird nests, supplies and fits chimney pots and cowls, repoints chimney stacks, and carries out stove servicing and repairs. Flue-liner supply and fitting are also listed among its services.

The website states that the sweep has more than 40 years' experience in the solid-fuel industry, is a member of the National Association of Chimney Sweeps and is HETAS approved. It says work is insured and that a chimney-sweeping certificate is issued with each sweep; a HETAS certificate of compliance is issued for stove installations.

Care in the home is a stated priority. Floors and carpets are protected, appliances and openings are sealed to limit dust, and an industrial vacuum is used. The service is suited to homeowners arranging routine sweeping, checking a chimney after moving home, or considering a stove installation.
