Alterations

Alterations provides chimney sweeping and fireplace services across Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. Established in 1992, the business is led by Adrian Shaw, whose solid-fuel experience includes wood and multi-fuel stoves, fireplaces and chimneys. The company describes its approach as clean, tidy and respectful of customers’ homes and privacy.

Services range from chimney sweeping and stove servicing to repairs and complete fireplace or solid-fuel system installations. Customers can choose from traditional and contemporary wood- and multi-fuel stoves, brick, stone or contemporary fireplaces, and associated flue and chimney work. Cowls, chimney pots, liners and insulated flue systems can also be supplied and fitted.

For inspections and maintenance, Alterations offers camera checks and drone inspections for hard-to-reach chimney problems. Other work includes replacement firebricks and door-rope seals, carbon monoxide detector supply and fitting, and building, plastering and joinery. The business also works alongside local builders and solid-fuel stockists, supporting projects from maintenance and repairs through to installation.

Alterations says it has been a HETAS-registered installer since 2002 and is a member of the Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps. If you need help with a stove, fireplace or chimney, its offering covers both routine care and more involved installation work.
