Adams Chimney Sweep

Adams Chimney Sweep is Paul Adams’s Reading-based chimney-sweeping service. He works in homes and businesses, serving Reading and surrounding areas across Berkshire, North Hampshire and Oxfordshire. Named service areas include Bracknell, Wokingham, Newbury, Tadley and Basingstoke.

The work covers traditional brush sweeping and rotary power sweeping, followed by soot-vacuum cleaning. Paul sweeps open fires, wood and log burners, stoves, Agas, ranges and Rayburns, and cleans gas-fire flues. A qualified gas engineer needs to disconnect and reconnect a gas fire before and after its flue is swept.

Bird nests and debris can be removed, except where a nest contains protected eggs during the breeding season. An official work example also describes fitting an anti-down-draught cowl. For wedding appearances, Paul offers the traditional lucky-chimney-sweep role.

Paul describes himself as a National Association of Chimney Sweeps member and a HETA-approved sweep, with insurance and sweeping certificates available. To help keep homes tidy, he uses a runner between the entrance and fireplace and a vacuum to clear soot and dust. The service is described as suitable for homeowners and landlords as well as business premises.
