Ablewight Chimney Services

Ablewight Chimney Services is a family-run chimney-care business based in Cambridge, established in 1980. Its founder, Bil Wight, helped shape the trade by writing the City & Guilds chimney sweeping qualification and founding the Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps.

The team offers chimney sweeping, CCTV inspections, bird-nest removal, tar and creosote treatment, and maintenance for wood-burning stoves. The business also lists bee-nest removal and emergency call-outs among its services. Whether you need routine attention or help investigating a chimney problem, its range covers cleaning, inspection and appliance care.

Each sweep includes an expert safety inspection, insurance-valid certification, practical maintenance advice and careful, tidy working. The company highlights its no-mess approach, professional accreditations and public liability cover as part of its focus on safe, dependable chimney care.

Ablewight serves homeowners, landlords, tenants, construction companies, colleges and letting agents across Cambridgeshire and nearby parts of Suffolk, Hertfordshire and Essex. The team’s local coverage centres on Cambridge and surrounding communities.
