A1 Chimney Sweeps

A1 Chimney Sweeps is a family-run chimney-care business based in Croydon, serving South London and the surrounding Surrey area. Founded by Mick Binge in 1993, it brings decades of practical experience to work in homes with open fires, log burners, gas fires and solid-fuel stoves.

Chimney sweeping uses brushes and rods alongside a vacuum, with care taken to protect the room while soot and other deposits are removed. The service includes checks of the flue and fireplace, a draw test, a sweeping certificate and advice on safe use and maintenance.

The team also handles bird-nest and debris removal, fits chimney pots and cowls, carries out smoke-integrity tests, and provides maintenance and safety checks for existing stoves and fireplaces. These services are intended for homeowners seeking routine chimney care or help with a blocked flue or related concern.

Mick is a member of the National Association of Chimney Sweeps and is HETAS registered; the business also states that it is fully insured. Its family-run approach and emphasis on careful, tidy work are central to the service.
